Gemini, the shapeshifter of the zodiac, loves to play games and is known for being a trickster. The opportunity for mental play is showing up in perfect time, assisting us in transforming our lives by changing our minds.

My Guru often said one of the goals of yoga is to expand our horizon of awareness. To question our perception of reality and to be open to new ideas and ways of being in the world; in his words to “think a new thought.” The quality of today’s full moon presents us with this opportunity. To expand our personal view and thus expand our dream of the world and how we live within it.

Ask Yourself:

  • How do my thoughts or beliefs about myself and the world around me limit my ability to fulfill my dreams?
  • What is my greatest obstacle to feeling content?
  • What thought patterns can I shapeshift to change a limited perception of my current life circumstances?

In one sense, there is no such thing as letting go, but rather a shift in focus. With the Sun conjunct Jupiter in Sagittarius along with Mercury (the ruler of Gemini) retrograde our inward truth is becoming more clear and our aim more focused.

With this comes our ability to witness the obstacles and hone in on the target with evermore optimism and hope. We become more willing to make a shift in consciousness in order to achieve our goals. Where at first we recognized the limitation now we see through it and beyond.

Mercury, referred to as messenger of the gods, rules the Vishuddha (throat) Chakra. In esoteric yoga, this represents a state of consciousness that is a pure expression of Self or Atma and exemplifies communion of thought and word – mind and body.

This lunation is signaling us toward the truth of what unifies or divides us personally and as a collective. It is up to each of us to uplift the Gemini quality of shapeshifting in order to transform our realities to reflect the dream of God, the dream of communion and the virtue of wholeness. In doing so we give ourselves permission to succor unto life and celebrate the blessing of this bountiful earthly garden.

By expanding our perceptions, we expand our horizon of awareness cultivating the garden of life and a dream of greater freedom and connection.
