“The only calibration that counts is how much heart people invest, how much they ignore their fears of being hurt or caught out or humiliated. And the only thing people regret is that they didn’t live boldly enough, that they didn’t invest enough heart, didn’t love enough. Nothing else really counts at all.” ~ Ted Hughes

NEW MOON IN LIBRA: Oct 6, 2021@ 7:03 am EST at 13 degrees

There are moments in life that just don’t let us off the hook. It seems we are currently experiencing such a moment. Each of us is undergoing a personal period of recalibration; a restructuring of how we communicate in relationships and the subtle (or not so subtle) links to our values and beliefs. There is a real desire to express what is just and right in order to realign our internal compass.

We may find ourselves reflecting on relational dynamics or transforming conflicts and power struggles that interfere with our ability to have harmonious connections. This is a period of taking stock of all our associations, romantic partners, and collaborators and acknowledging all the inequalities that have been overlooked or repressed.

Today’s New Moon in Libra can stir up an old wound with an impulse to assert energy toward that which we deem as just – tipping the scales back into balance. In essence, we seek to reconcile past traumas, mitigate unresolved internal conflict, and evaluate what is necessary to resolve outer conflicts in order to create more equity in our relationships. And, ultimately, to feel a greater sense of freedom and authenticity.

Here are a few questions you might consider asking yourself:

  • How do I communicate my power? Or not?
  • Is my internal self-talk dominant and overpowering?
  • Am I working with or against myself to bring greater harmony into my life and my relationships?
  • How do I assert and communicate justice in my life and in the world?
  • What do I need to say to feel more free while maintaining equity?

Remember as Helen Keller so eloquently said, “When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us”.

Blessings abound for yet another illuminating lunar cycle.

Om Shanti…
