viewed as a masterpiece
dissected with symbolism
seeking some semblance
of truth, a personal reality
pervasive inspiration
passing the flame
from a fading torch
residue of wisdom
etched in the far
reaches of our being
grazing in the frail pastors
of a vulnerable soul
masked in images
wrapped about ourselves
clothed in wonder
garments of imagination
a cave of self-image
as raw as a rock
as fragile as a feather
yet sturdy as a tree
grateful for a single
breath of eternity
I am you, you are me
