Gemini, the sign of the twins, represents our dualistic nature and the innate conflict of mind. Gemini is the magician, the playful trickster, and master of the mental realm creatively shape-shifting our experiences to allow for the purest expression of self to be revealed. Communication is the Gemini forte and sharing ideas is pertinent.
Mercury is the ruling planet of Gemini and is transiting through Cancer, the sign of home, nurturance, and family. All of which are likely to be top of mind as we move through this cycle, along with gaining a better understanding of how codependency plays out in our lives and ways in which we strive for personal security.
Mercury has dominion over the throat or Vishuddha chakra, meaning pure; pure expression, truthfulness. In order to express ourselves truthfully we must know thyself first. We must reflect inward upon ourselves, becoming aware of our mental proclivities, innate urges, judgments, habitual behaviors, emotional tendencies and reactive nature in order to harmonize our personality and gain self-mastery.
The moon is the ruler of Cancer and therefore directly linked to our feelings and emotions. How we think about something can often time activate feelings and similarly how we feel about something can trigger mental stories. Our emotional responses to feelings are a huge source of inner conflict as is clinging to stories of the past.
Halfway through this cycle, Mars will go stationary retrograde in Aquarius amplifying a need for radical change and revolutionary action. We will be given opportunities to resolve inner conflict and free ourselves from self-denial for the sake of outer peace. We will have the urge to express and communicate new ideas as well as join forces and collaborate.
Ultimately, we are learning to trust ourselves by listening to what we truly need and taking actions that align with those truths. When we betray ourselves we create inner conflict. Betrayal is a denial of our personal truth for the sake of a belief, an idea, or for another. In order to end the inner conflict (the inner war), we must acknowledge those parts of ourselves that we’ve denied. Even if it means potentially disappointing those we love.
