Ringing of the bell
chimes FIRE.
Compelled to soften
in the rage.

An open womb
for rising flames.
Bearing witness
to the blaze.

Black dust blows.
The charcoal stains.
Embers hold steady
at sunset red.

The aftermath…
A persistent reminder.
An undeniable, yet alluring
alarm of betrayal.

I stand guard,
unwavering.
At the gates
of deception.
