* MUSING * written by Elaina Dec 2017

I’ve become a beggar…

Begging for a taste
Just one more instance
To savor completion
Absorbed in the nectar of perfection

Still high on memories
The bold scent of my lover
charming intoxication
Spellbound by believing

But wait….It’s fading now…
I hear the wallowing cries
Crystalline shards fragmented
Crumbling images of a dream

Feeling the tear of dissolution
Withering in withdrawal
Blinded yet again
In the blaze of promise

Oh Beloved, Is it true? Was that You?
Masked in the face of illusion?
I beg You to disrobe
Allow my eyes a glimpse

And, never again to forget
The seed of Your breath
Bound to my essence
I beg, I plead, I pray…

I vow I will not numb
I’m in too deep to deny
Aware this battle will destroy
My arrow is released

A target eclipsed by brilliance
Absolve me in Your light
Use me, abuse me, but I beg of You
Please… consume me
