“Commitment is what transforms a promise into reality.” ~ Abraham Lincoln

SATURN ingress into CAPRICORN: Dec 19, 2017 @ 11:49pm EST

Saturn’s movement from Sagittarius to Capricorn is a time to get real with the sobering truths revealed over the past three years. Saturn’s transit through Sagittarius presented a period of self-examination; clarifying our personal truths as a means of reclaiming our authentic selves and true purpose. We sifted through personal beliefs about relationships and life experiences, and likely made difficulty decisions or endured challenging situations that led us down a path of growth, expansion, and most importantly self-mastery.

Sagittarius makes the laws and Capricorn enforces them. With Saturn now in its home sign of Capricorn it will be a time to not only know our truth, but to live by that truth. Saturn in Capricorn will demand right action, all the time. Anything else will fall short. Saturn will be transiting the sign of Capricorn for two plus years (Dec 19, 2017 – Dec 17, 2020). Collectively and individually wherever Saturn resides (the sign and house position) is where we have the opportunity to claim more of our personal authority.

Saturn, the great teacher, also referred to as Father Time and Lord of Karma, assists us in reclaiming responsibility for our lives and our experiences. Any restrictions or limitations that arise will show us where we have given up our power or suspended our integrity. Each Saturnian challenge we sustain offers an opportunity to align with our authentic nature. Saturn tends to take away anything other than the essential, especially in the realm of mind and thought. Only that which is actual in the moment will have validity, all else will be increasing difficult to grasp.

As its ruling sign, Saturn in Capricorn is comfortable and effective and whatsoever is implemented here will assuredly be long-lasting. Saturn can be strict and cold, but can also be extremely virtuous, especially when grounded in its own sign. Each of us will have the opportunity to anchor more virtue in the area of our lives that Capricorn rules (see the house ruler of Capricorn in your natal chart). We will be challenged with our ability to claim divine authority by recognizing a high moral standard and living those standards uncompromisingly. This includes, being true to oneself while also honoring others. Self-respect comes when we respect others and the process.

Saturn has done its visioning, now we begin the work necessary to implement plans; taking actions to crystallize our life dreams. With Saturn in its home sign of Capricorn we’ll either be shown how congruent we are with our divine authority or where we need to align. Saturn’s lesson can be harsh and can take away those things that keep us from living true… so this may be a period of both letting go AND rebuilding. When the house is burned down…we inevitably rebuild from the ground up. We are in the process of redefining what it means to be secure, along with understanding the difference between self-control versus power struggle and authority versus authoritative.

“Commitment is an act, not a word.” ~ Jean-Paul Sartre

Commitment and maturation are the keynotes for this transit. We come to recognize that which is enduring as true and that which sustains as secure. Patience, perseverance, and sustainability are pillars for longevity. The aligned truths you commit to now will assuredly be those you can build upon for many years to come; for truth always reveals itself and eternally prevails.
