“A false sense of security is the only kind there is” ~ Michael Meade

I always note when an author’s name is mentioned on more than one occasion in the course of a day.  In this case, I’m so glad I did.  Michael Meade is amazing.  I have just begun to sink into some of his writing and listen to his published recordings. He teaches us the importance of awakening to the mythological influences in our lives.

As a lifetime student of astrology, I am fascinated by symbols and myths that correspond to the planets that connect us.   Astrological signs, and the patterns they create in the sky, also seem to reflect patterns in our lives. Whether or not you believe in astrology, a human tradition of myth remains present. What myths (or stories) do you currently tell yourself?  And, within those stories, what character — what archetype — do you play? While the word ‘mythology’ sometimes refers to a story of fiction, when studied closely, it also holds the power to reveal truths. It speaks to the way we connect to the whole, the way we remember, and the way we find space to be creative within the world around us.  I highly recommend Meade’s book Fate and Destiny.
