“He who lives in harmony with himself lives in harmony with the universe.” ~ Marcus Aurelius

FULL MOON in LIBRA: March 23, 2016 @ 7:01 am at 3 degrees

Libra is the sign of equality, justice, and harmony, and seeks balance in all things. And, as we know, life is insistent on returning to a balanced state. This might explain the popularity of yoga as one of the greatest global movements of our time. Simplified, yoga is a practice of returning to our center, balancing body, mind, and spirit.

As humans, we tend to polarize our lives through our beliefs, relationships, lifestyles, and cultures; creating an ever widening gap between one another and within ourselves. When we are centered in our lives we enter a state of harmony which dissolves extremes and burns away the clouds of illusion and the idea of duality or separation.

The Libran energy will do anything to sustain harmony and wants nothing more than to balance the scales of justice. If what we give is out of alignment to what we receive we feel the repercussions over time. Our energy becomes depleted and we feel a growing incongruency. Sure, there are times when we must swing from one side of the pendulum to the other to access the polarity and find the center, but the key is to always return to center – the heart of presence.

With the Moon in Libra opposed Sun/Mercury in Aries our focus may be a little more self-centered than usual and this is good. We need to recognize what is out of balance within us first to truly understand the disharmony happening externally. The strong Pisces influence on this lunation may leave us feeling more confused, overwhelmed or chaotic, but don’t fret, simply maintain presence, observe, and take note.

Harmonic alignment is inevitable. Whatsoever is out of balance in our life is telling us what’s necessary to create harmony (what needs to be shifted within). This is the path of the heart; listening to what life and our relationships are communicating and forming our responses to serve our highest good and the good of all.

The resonance of harmony is refined, with an air of ease and grace. Harmony is naturally magnetic and abundant, all of which are qualities of Venus, the ruling planet of this full moon. Venus symbolizes beauty, pleasure, and sophistication. Venus is exalted in the sign of Pisces and is conjunct Neptune enhancing our connection to the other worlds, to our dreams, and to what we most value. (Consider who and what you might be attracting into your life right now for added clues…)

Venus and Neptune are giving us access to the refined clarity of our highest self; to clear and merge our consciousness… by looking past the clouds of disillusionment, controlling our urge for over indulgence, taking time to dream without getting lost in the fantasy, enjoying pleasures while staying balanced in responsibilities, and releasing doubt to complete the tasks that require immediate attention.

In yoga, we are constantly working to refine our asana practice and our mental processes, along with the words we choose and our communication. This lunation asks: What aspects of our love nature, relationships, communications, and dreams are we elevating and refining? And then: What practical implementation are we cultivating to support this process? Venus opposed Jupiter in Virgo square Saturn in Sagittarius is encouraging heightened focus and discipline. Creating or boosting our spiritual practices is a good idea as we begin this new season. (Check out the Soul Shine Spring Sadhana Package as an option.) The energy of this T-square, along with the moon sextile Mars encourage us to take conscious action by accessing our higher choices. Meditate. Meditate. Meditate.
